Today I’m unveilling one of three amazing On Burgum Pond cottages (of which I had the pleasure of photographing!) in Maleny – the quaintest little town tucked away in the scenic Sunshine Coast hinterlands. This gem boasts a two-bedroom setup with modern amenities set amidst nature’s bliss. We could certainly feel the embrace of the hosts’ warm hospitality throughout our stay.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a generous basket of goodies for a heartwarming breakfast. Fresh eggs from the hosts’ very own chickens, fresh home baked bread (by the gorgeous host herself!), scrumptious pastries, cookies and a delectable array of spreads..just to name a few! The kitchen was well equipped with modelling appliances, allowed us to channel our inner chef when we desired.
The living area, with its plush furnishings and fireplace, was our sanctuary for relaxation.
Did I forget to mention their biggest highlight feature? We spent most of our time on the expansive deck that extends out from the living. It includes a handy BBQ and outdoor dining area, which provides another option to unwind. We had our meals there frequently. We also couldn’t help but sip wine and indulge in the spectacular views of the pond. Even though high speed Wifi was available, we had no difficulties switching off, embracing the tranquility and observing the beautiful birds that graced our views.
Not only did the two bedrooms boast gorgeous views of the pond from their large windows, they exuded coziness and were sprinkled with thoughtful touches. We were spoilt with a variety of books to read, neatly presented towels and sweet treats too. The luxurious bed linen certainly promised a couple nights of indulgent sleep for us.
Our stay at Kookaburra Cottage was more than vacation. It was a soul soothing experience and served as the perfect retreat after venturing out in the beautiful Maleny town center and its remarkable walking trails. If you’re seeking a personalised escape that seamlessly blends modern luxury with natural tranquility, be sure to check out these wonderful cottages (AirBnB link) at On Burgum Pond.
I will save the posts of the other two cottages for another day. Meanwhile will leave you the marvel at these visuals of the charming Kookaburra cottage for now.
